Apocalyptic and dystopian worlds are becoming increasingly more explored whether it is in novels and works of fiction or artworks. Italian artist Giacomo Costa has created this series of landscapes entitled Post Natural to show his view of an urban apocalyptic environment.
What makes these illustrations compelling is the integration of nature and construction. Although the cities are corrupt and dying, life is still present through the growth of trees and nature attempting to take back the land in which they one resided.
The colors are gray and somber, bringing together everything we expect from a representation of a decayed world that was once inhabited.
